growth mindset: developing a growth mindset

The Power Growth Mindset

What is holding you back from following your dreams?

Many times we hide behind a lack of education as one of the reasons we are not living our dreams.
Maybe lack of money, enough time or age are some of the reasons we claim are blocking as from leaving our dreams and owning our greatness.
But what if I told you that is a lie that most of us are living in? What if I told that there is just one thing that is holding you back?

Many people are living a lie and they have never known that they are living in that lie. The truth is that most of us are living in prison never being aware that we are behind bars. The prison of the mind.

In his book As a Man Thinketh, James Allen, Likens a man’s mind like a garden. Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, is the same way you can tend the garden of your mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts.

Self-limiting Thoughts

Self-limiting thoughts and beliefs always hinder our happiness and success.

Many people are held back by their self-limiting thoughts about who they are and all that they could be. But, what if you could break this chain and embrace challenges, criticisms, and setbacks as a source of strength and growth? Think about all the possibilities that would suddenly open up for you.

According to world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, you can break free from limiting thoughts and open up possibilities for success throughout your life, business and relationships. But it all starts with your mindset, she writes in her internationally bestselling book, “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” How We Can Learn to Fulfill Our Potential.

After decades of research, Dweck discovered the powerful impact of mindset. Dweck explains that it is not just our abilities and talent that bring us success, but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset.

George Simiyu, a lecture at the University of Nairobi summarises it that your life will rise or fall depending level of your mindset.

To me, that is absolute truth. We do not attract that which we want, but that which we are. We are handcuffed only by ourselves. Thought and action are the jailers of Fate – they imprison, being base; they are also the angels of Freedom – they liberate, being noble.
